About Maple & Mug
Brewed slowly, made to be shared
Maple & Mug is a small kitchen-and-coffee shop run by two friends who believe the best part of any day is the first warm cup. We pick every mug, press and pantry treat as if it were going on our own table.
How it started
It started on a snowy Saturday in 2019, with a borrowed farmers' market table, twelve thrifted diner mugs and a thermos of maple latte we gave away for free. By noon the mugs were gone and people were asking where to find more.
That winter we turned a corner of our apartment into a stockroom, learned how to ship stoneware without a single chip, and called ourselves Maple & Mug after the drink that started it all.
What we pick
We bring together the things that make a slow morning feel special: heavy stoneware diner mugs, porcelain latte cups, glass tea presses, raw wildflower honey from Ontario beekeepers, peppercorn sets for the kitchen and boxes of raspberry tartlets baked fresh every Friday.
Everything we sell is something we use at home first. If it doesn't survive a month of our own coffee, dishwasher and clumsy elbows, it doesn't make the shelf.
How we choose and pack
We work with a handful of small makers and family suppliers rather than big warehouses. We visit them when we can, taste the honey before it is jarred and test each new mug for heat, weight and that satisfying feel in the hand.
Every order is packed by one of us in recycled paper and plant-based fill, with a handwritten note. Fresh bakes leave our kitchen the same morning they ship.
Gifts and custom orders
Planning a wedding, a café opening or a thank-you gift for your team? We put together custom gift boxes with your choice of mugs, tea, honey and treats, and we can add a printed card or your logo on a sleeve.
Small runs start at 10 boxes and usually take two to three weeks. Tap "Plan a custom gift box" below, tell us the date and the budget, and we will send back a few ideas within two days.
Our promise to you
We stand behind every piece. If something arrives chipped or isn't what you hoped for, write to us within 30 days and we will replace it or refund you, no long forms.
We keep our packaging plastic-free, choose suppliers who treat people and bees well, and give 1% of every sale to our local food bank. Thank you for helping a tiny shop do things the slow, careful way.
